The Instructor Intensive Workshop Weekend

5 practical Physio-led workshops for qualified Pilates instructors

Second-guessing what to do when a client needs something different?

This is exactly why we are bringing these workshops back for the final time in 2026. Five workshops designed to fill the gaps so many instructors quietly feel:

  • the doubt when an injury walks in
  • the hesitation with a pregnant client
  • the worry that your class is not really building strength

You already love teaching.
This is how you start to trust it.

Join our founder, Kira-Leigh Rule, on 5 and 6 December.

Real practical application

Take it into your classes the next day

Whether you are in person in Sydney, joining us live via Zoom, or watching the replay from around the world, these workshops are designed for practical implementation that you can apply the next day in your classes.

How you can attend

In person

Sydney

  • Practical demonstrations
  • Time to ask questions
  • A small learning environment: maximum 12 participants per workshop
  • Travel to Sydney and attend several sessions across one weekend

Live via Zoom

  • Replay access afterwards

Replay

Worldwide

Everyone gets the replay. Everyone who books a workshop receives its replay for 14 days after release, including in person and live Zoom attendees. Live and in-person participation includes demonstration, movement and questions, which can differ from watching a recording.

The moments that test your confidence

The questions you meet in class

Qualification gives you the exercises. The harder part is what to do when a real client does not fit the standard class. These are the questions this weekend is built around.

“What do I modify when a client tells me they have sciatica?”Injury Modifications
“How much load is appropriate for a pregnant client?”Pre & Postnatal Pilates
“Why does changing a Reformer spring completely alter the exercise?”Applied Anatomy & Biomechanics
“How do I know whether my class is actually training strength?”Strength Pilates Principles
“How do I layer exercises without turning the class into a confusing sequence?”Programming & Cueing

The five workshops

What each workshop covers

Each workshop is two hours, practical and taught by a Physiotherapist. None of them is a new teaching qualification. They are continuing education for instructors who already teach.

Workshop 01

Injury Modifications

Saturday 5 December, 12:00 to 2:00 pm AEDT

A$199

“What do I modify when a client tells me they have sciatica?”

Modify With Confidence. A practical look at six presentations instructors meet every week, taught from a Physiotherapy perspective. The focus is informed exercise modification, not diagnosis.

What we cover

  • Sciatica
  • Neck pain
  • Shoulder impingement and rotator cuff related pain
  • Tennis elbow and golfer's elbow
  • Knee osteoarthritis
  • Lumbar disc herniations

What you can take back to class

  • Understand each presentation well enough to teach around it
  • Know when to progress, modify, stop or refer
  • Practical Mat and Reformer modifications
  • Load and positioning considerations
  • Cueing strategies that keep the class flowing

Included: the live workshop, a dedicated manual and 14 days of replay access.

Workshop 02

Pre & Postnatal Pilates

Saturday 5 December, 2:30 to 4:30 pm AEDT

A$199

“How much load is appropriate for a pregnant client?”

Beyond the Trimester Rules. Taught from a Women's Health Physiotherapist's perspective, this workshop goes past rules of thumb so you can make sound exercise choices for pregnant and postnatal clients, including inside general classes.

What we cover

  • Trimester specific physiological changes
  • Pregnancy warning signs and referral considerations
  • Functional pelvic floor cueing
  • Appropriate exercise loading
  • Diastasis recti abdominis and pelvic girdle pain
  • Postnatal recovery, including vaginal and caesarean birth

What you can take back to class

  • Practical Mat and Reformer modifications
  • Supporting pregnant and postnatal clients within general classes
  • Know when something needs referral

Included: the live workshop, a dedicated manual and 14 days of replay access.

Workshop 03

Applied Anatomy & Biomechanics

Sunday 6 December, 9:30 to 11:30 am AEDT

A$199

“Why does changing a Reformer spring completely alter the exercise?”

Why This Exercise Feels Different. Understand what actually changes when you shift a spring, a joint angle or a body position, then use it to choose and adjust exercises on purpose. This is not a condensed version of the full Applied Anatomy & Biomechanics Certification.

What we cover

  • Applied anatomy for familiar Pilates exercises
  • Leverage and moment arms
  • Force direction
  • Reformer spring mechanics
  • Resistance, body positioning and joint angles

What you can take back to class

  • Practical analysis of bridges, footwork, squats, lunges, planks and upper body exercises
  • Explain to a client why an exercise feels different

Included: the live workshop, a dedicated manual and 14 days of replay access.

Workshop 04

Strength Pilates Principles

Sunday 6 December, 12:00 to 2:00 pm AEDT

A$199

“How do I know whether my class is actually training strength?”

Strength Pilates: Beyond the Burn. One of the most practical and experiential workshops of the weekend. You will move, then work out how to build the same principles into your own Mat and Reformer classes.

What we cover

  • Strength versus muscular endurance
  • The difference between fatigue and strength adaptations
  • Progressive overload, repetitions and sets
  • Resistance selection, tempo and rest

What you can take back to class

  • Apply strength principles to Mat and Reformer exercises
  • Programme for mixed abilities
  • Leave with a repeatable Strength Pilates class framework

Included: the live workshop, a dedicated manual and 14 days of replay access.

Workshop 05

Programming & Cueing

Sunday 6 December, 2:30 to 4:30 pm AEDT

A$199

“How do I layer exercises without turning the class into a confusing sequence?”

The Art of Programming & Cueing. Design classes with purpose, cue with confidence and adjust in real time. Includes practical templates and real class planning examples.

What we cover

  • Purposeful class design for flow, strength and mixed method classes
  • 30, 45 and 60 minute class frameworks
  • Multiweek programming
  • Exercise selection, sequencing and cumulative layering

What you can take back to class

  • Verbal, visual and consent based tactile cueing
  • Managing mixed abilities and real time class adjustments
  • Teaching confidence and delivery

Included: the live workshop, a dedicated manual and 14 days of replay access.

Kira-Leigh Rule, Physiotherapist and founder of Body Form Education

Meet your educator

Kira-Leigh Rule

I am a Physiotherapist, and I have spent my career in the space between clinical reasoning and movement teaching. I trained as a Women’s Health Physiotherapist and as a Clinical Pilates instructor, and I own Pilates and Physiotherapy studios, so everything in this weekend has been tested in real classes with real clients.

I founded Body Form Education because instructors kept asking for the same thing: to understand the why, not just the exercise. These workshops are what I would want if I were teaching your classes: clear, practical and honest about scope of practice.

★★★★★
“I’ve had Kira-Leigh run two workshops for my staff, one on pre and postnatal Pilates and another focused on injuries, and both were absolutely incredible. She’s so knowledgeable, but what really stands out is how she breaks everything down in a way that’s easy to understand and makes the information feel so much less overwhelming.”
