The Body Form Education Pilates
Teacher Training Curriculum
Explore the Complete 250+ Hour Learning Experience
Physio-Led • Science-Backed • Globally Recognised
Body Form Education's curriculum has been developed by Physiotherapists to prepare instructors for the realities of teaching Pilates not just memorising exercises.

Across more than 250 hours of learning, you'll develop the anatomy, biomechanics, programming, cueing and clinical reasoning required to confidently teach Mat Pilates, Reformer Pilates, Studio Equipment and Barre across a wide range of client populations.

Every module combines evidence-based theory with practical application, helping you understand not only how to teach an exercise, but why you are teaching it.
Inside the Curriculum
More Than Just Exercise Names
Most Pilates teacher training courses teach you what exercises to perform.
We teach you how to think like an instructor.

Every module is designed to help you understand the science behind movement, giving you the confidence to adapt, modify and programme for the clients standing in front of you.

Rather than relying on memorisation, you'll learn how anatomy, biomechanics, movement quality and clinical reasoning influence every programming decision you make.

PRACTICAL TRAINING
Learn How To Teach, Not Just What To Teach
The online curriculum provides the scientific knowledge behind movement.
Your practical training is where you'll learn how to confidently apply that knowledge in real classes.
Unlike many Pilates courses that simply demonstrate exercises, every movement is explored through the lens of anatomy, biomechanics and clinical reasoning.

For every exercise covered, you'll learn:
✓ Practical injury modifications that maintain class flow without isolating the client

✓ Pregnancy and postpartum considerations, including when an exercise may become uncomfortable, why, and how to modify it appropriately

✓ Where the exercise fits within a larger class plan to create balanced, effective programming

✓ How to layer exercises to progressively increase challenge

✓ When and how to incorporate props to enhance movement quality or progression
✓ The purpose of the exercise and when to use it
✓ The primary muscles and movement patterns involved
✓ Correct setup and teaching technique
✓ Progressions and regressions for different ability levels
✓ Common client compensations and why they occur
✓ How to manage common complaints, such as knee pain during squats or lower back discomfort in bridging
Rather than memorising individual exercises, you'll develop the clinical reasoning to confidently adapt your teaching based on the clients in front of you.
Extensive Exercise Libraries
One of the biggest resources students receive is unlimited access during enrolment to our comprehensive exercise libraries.

Across Mat, Reformer, Studio Equipment and Barre, you'll explore hundreds of exercise demonstrations ranging from traditional Pilates repertoire through to contemporary functional movement.

Each exercise is taught consistently using the same evidence-based framework so you understand not only how to perform the movement, but how to teach it safely and effectively.

Every exercise includes:
-
Purpose and training outcome
-
Primary muscles and biomechanics
-
Correct setup and positioning
-
Teaching points
-
Progressions and regressions
-
Injury modifications
-
Pregnancy and postpartum considerations
-
Programming ideas
-
Common technique errors and how to correct them
Instead of simply knowing hundreds of exercises, you'll understand:
-
Why an exercise has been selected
-
What muscles and movement patterns it develops
-
How to adapt it for injuries, pregnancy and different abilities
-
How to build intelligent, progressive class plans
-
How to confidently teach across Mat, Reformer, Studio Equipment and Barre
-
How to think like an instructor rather than simply follow choreography

Founder Kira-Leigh Rule spoke on Global Pilates Podcast about what the journey of Body Form Education has been built on.
Not just teaching Pilates but improving the standard of how it’s taught.
She also spoke about progression pathways because this is where a lot of instructors get stuck.
They do their initial qualification… and then they plateau.
But the reality is, if you want to grow in this industry, whether that’s financially, professionally, or in terms of impact, you need to keep evolving your skillset.
That’s where things like anatomy, injury understanding, pre and postnatal education, and strength programming become non-negotiables.
